After looking at my Premiere timeline I released that I had been using the title background option of Premiere rather than colour mattes. This didn't really make too much difference however I wanted to show that I could use these colour mattes and knew how they worked. For this reason I began to play around with these to make them fit into my timeline. I began by adding the colour matte to Video 1 which was the main video for my whole DVD trailer. I soon realised that the title itself needed to be on the layer above the colour matte and hence I then added this directly above. I then needed to use the title settings to remove the background which I had added to my text. There was no difference when this was removed because my colour matte was the same colour as the background. The main aim of this was hence to show different skills. I didn't use colour mattes for all of my titles as this my final two titles worked exactly as I wanted them too. They appeared to transition from one to the other without any transition in place and this was due to the backgrounds I had used. Once I had added these colour mattes I had a small problem with the transitions I had added as these then needed tweaking and moving slightly. I kept the same transition just adjusted the length of time and positioning between the two clips slightly. The screenshot below shows my timeline with these colour mattes added.
