Illustrator - Design Idea Desicion

After consideration and some playing around with Illustrator and my design ideas I have decided that the idea I will be using for my final disk cover will be Design Idea 1. This can be seen below.

 

The main reasoning's behind my decision is that this design has more scope to adapt. I feel I can use more tools and display more technique with this design as it is more fantasy and hence very little could look out of place. I also feel that the colours and mainly the clouds display the continuity which is very hard to achieve. Without a shadow of doubt this design still needs a lot of work but now I have my decision I can narrow down my thoughts and adaptions to one design rather than trying to achieve a good effect with both. In a later blog post I will show all my findings with trialling different ideas and hopefully end up with a professional final product.
