The two ideas which I came up with use similar clips but give off an overall different feel. My first idea gives off the sad and emotional vibe while my second idea gives off the happy vibes. Although the clips I would use for each idea would vary based on this factor the main aspect which would give this feeling is the song choice. Thinking about my ideas and these brainstorms I have come to the conclusion that the music on the trailer is one of the most important factors. For this reason I started looking at some other potential music and the feelings that each song gave off. The list of songs can be seen below. The faces next to each song represent the feeling I feel they give off.
Looking at this list of songs and my original song ideas I have narrowed this down to my favourite and most appropriate two sad songs and then the same again but for the happier vibe. Beyoncé - Broken Hearted Girl is still my favourite song choice for theme one while Shontelle - Impossible is my second choice. Cyndi Lauper - Girls just wanna have fun is by far my favourite cheerful song for theme number two while Beyoncé - Single Ladies and Spice Girls - Wannabe sit closely tied as my second choice.
My aim now is to look at current DVD trailers which are of a similar Genre to my DVD and then review them based on what I like and don't like. I will also look at whether these tend to focus on the emotional side or the happy side of the film in the trailer as this may sway me towards one of my own ideas. I would be particularly interested in looking at a Sex And The City trailer as this is closely linked with my own film.
